Coming into the 2023 NFL season, the New York Jets were thought to be legitimate Super Bowl title contenders, as it seemed as though the team had found the missing piece to the championship puzzle by acquiring superstar quarterback Aaron Rodgers in a blockbuster trade with the Green Bay Packers.
Unfortunately for the Jets, the team’s hopes of winning a Super Bowl for the first time since 1969 with Joe Namath leading the charge all came crashing down on the first offensive series for New York against the division-rival Buffalo Bills in Week 1.
Rodgers tore his Achilles tendon in that first series and, as a result, has missed the entire season up to this point, which completely changed the outlook for this team, with the Jets coming into Week 16 with a record of 5-9 and having already been eliminated from playoff contention in the AFC.
With the Jets limping to the finish line, it seemed as though the team could make some drastic changes to the coaching staff, with head coach Robert Saleh potentially on the verge of losing his job.
It appears that team owner Woody Johnson has no intention of making a change at head coach or general manager, as Saleh and Joe Douglas will be back next season via Ari Meirov of The 33rd Team.

Although this is a bit of a surprise as it would be the perfect opportunity for Johnson to clean house and find a potential upgrade at head coach, the longtime owner seems to have faith in Saleh, which will be put to the test next season if Rodgers can stay healthy.
It’ll also be interesting to see what the team can do to put more talent around Rodgers next season while also potentially upgrading the offense line.
