The Detroit Lions beat the odds and lived up to the expectations.
For the first time ever, they’re NFC North champions, winning their first divisional title in 30 years.
However, as much as they’re a bit of a feel-good story right now, NFL analyst Craig Carton thinks they’ve already reached their peak this season.
Talking on The Carton Show, the pundit stated that they’re not going to get the No. 1 seed in the NFC, predicting it might go to the Philadelphia Eagles.
Notably, former NFL star Willie Colon seemed to agree with him, stating that he just doesn’t trust Jared Goff.
“The #Vikings gave the #Lions hell. I don’t trust Jared Goff to be honest with you.”

Truth be told, Goff has been much better since arriving in Detroit, showing glimpses of the player he was in college and being much more efficient than he was during his days with the Los Angeles Rams.
But as good as he’s looked every now and then, he’s also struggled mightily to find consistency, and it just seems like he can’t get back on track when he doesn’t get into a rhythm early in the game.
The Lions have still been one of the best stories in the game this season, and it wouldn’t be shocking to see them become a perennial contender under Dan Campbell.
But they have yet to prove that they can win against good teams, and they’ve alternated some very good games with some head-scratching performances. and it seems like you never know which version of them you’re going to get when they set foot on the gridiron.
