The Las Vegas Raiders have plenty of history, but that hasn’t translated into a lot of success lately.
A lot of that has had to do with the lack of foundation and fundamentals; they just don’t have a winning culture or people willing to honor their history every single time they set foot on the gridiron.
That has changed from the very second Antonio Pierce took over as interim head coach.
That’s why former NFL star Tony Romo gave him the nod during the win over the Kansas City Chiefs, praising him for being able to communicate, inspire, and develop a winning culture within the locker room (via NFL on CBS).
“I think he should be the head coach next year,” Tony Romo said.

Romo stated that Pierce was an exceptional player during his heyday and that he knows the game at a high level, which is also why he should get the nod to be their full-time coach.
Nonetheless, this Raiders organization hasn’t exactly been known for doing the right thing or making the proper decisions.
The players were inspired by Rich Bisaccia when Jon Gruden resigned, yet they didn’t even consider hiring him on a full-time basis after his brief stint as an interim.
Hopefully, that won’t be the case with Pierce as well, as he’s earned the respect and recognition of every single person inside of that locker room and has made the Raiders look like a team that could compete with the best of them week in and week out, which is something we hadn’t seen in quite a while.
