The Kansas City Chiefs have definitely gone through better days, but it’s not like it’s all lost.
Even though they haven’t been as good as usual and they’ll have to do better on the road in the playoffs, they’re still the same Super Bowl-contending team, at least in their core.
That’s why team legend Dante Hall wants Patrick Mahomes to get back to basics and forget about everything that has gone wrong this season.
Talking on Good Morning Football, the Chiefs Hall of Famer stated that the Chiefs’ star needs to change his body language and start hyping his teammates up again.
“I think [Mahomes] needs to fall in love with the mundane. Yes, for 5 years we have been used to the big plays to Tyreek, to Kelce, all of that… It’s time to be Checkdown Tom Brady…,” Hall said.

He believes that Mahomes needs to start sending a message of positivity again instead of all the complaints that lead to doubt and poor plays.
Hall states that everything they’re striving for is still right there for the taking, so they just need to take it.
On top of that, Hall thinks that Mahomes needs to take a page or two out of Tom Brady’s book.
He told him there’s no shame in check-downs and simple quick passes.
Hall stated that Mahomes should ‘fall in love with the mundane,’ and even though not all plays will be 50+-yard gains, all they need to do is keep those chains in motion.
That’s the kind of wisdom that comes only with experience, and Mahomes and the Chiefs should most definitely listen to someone who’s been there and done that, as they still have plenty of time to turn their campaign around.
