The Cleveland Browns and New York Jets are slated to face off in what could be a critical Thursday Night Football game.
While the Jets are eliminated from the playoffs, the Browns’ hopes are alive.
In fact, with a win, the Browns will clinch their spot in the postseason.
The Jets might present as an easier matchup on paper, but the Browns might be without a key playmaker.
Tom Pelissero recently reported that Amari Cooper is suffering from a heel injury, and while he is hopeful that he will play, nothing is certain at this time.
#Browns WR Amari Cooper (heel) is hopeful he can play tonight against the #Jets, but his status remains up in the air, per sources.
The short week is tough. Cooper knows his body well. They’ll get a better sense closer to kickoff.

Cooper has been the Browns’ No. 1 receiver over the past several weeks, benefiting from having Joe Flacco as his quarterback.
He finished last week’s game with 11 receptions, which he turned into 265 yards and two touchdowns.
This was his second straight week with at least 100 yards, a sparkplug for this Browns team that has won three consecutive games.
If he misses this contest, it will not only hurt the Browns’ chances of winning but also their chances of clinching a playoff spot.
They are still in an excellent position to do so if they lose this game, but they’d like to get the job done as soon as possible.
Fans will be interested to see how things shake out for the Browns ahead of this game.
If Cooper plays, it’s a sign that he is ready to contribute, as Pelissero indicated.
He is a veteran who knows his body well after years of competing.
However, if he doesn’t play, Flacco must find someone else to take on the bulk of the receiving load.
