The San Francisco 49ers got a big reality check on Monday.
There’s no shame in losing to an elite team like the Baltimore Ravens, but the way they lost was rather concerning, considering the fact that they could meet again in the Super Bowl.
Nonetheless, all Niners players have embraced the criticism chin-up, talking about how they can and will bounce back from that tough loss and how they’re still the best team in the NFC.
Notably, that includes QB Brock Purdy, who threw four interceptions before leaving the game late with a stinger.
When asked about the loss, Purdy claimed it was a great learning experience for him and his teammates.
Purdy stated that it’s not like he’s going to be perfect from now on, but that tough loss allowed him to make some adjustments (Via ProFootballTalk):
“It’s a great learning experience just in terms of not buying into what’s going on around and what’s being said,” Purdy said, via 49ersWebzone.com. “Instead, executing in the moment, making the right reads, being consistent, protecting the ball, all those things. It’s such a good learning experience.”

The former Mr. Irrelevant also believes that it was about time they got a reality check, as it’s easy to go through the motions and just think you’re doing great when things are going your way, so the losses help you balance things out and realize where you truly are.
Purdy drew plenty of criticism for his performance, even though two of his interceptions weren’t on him.
There have been countless doubts about his ability to get the job done and lead the Niners to the promised land.
But with the postseason just around the corner, he’s going to have more than enough opportunities to prove the doubters wrong once and for all.
