The New York Jets have absolutely nothing to play for in their season finale.
However, that’s not the case with Zach Wilson, who could still use the exposure and reps to audition to get a new job next year.
With that in mind, the media asked HC Robert Saleh whether he’s going to give Wilson an opportunity to start next week vs. the New England Patriots, to which the coach simply stated that the team needs to get him healthy first, but he’ll definitely be a part of the discussion (via Antwan V. Robert Saleh on if Zach Wilson is healthy, would be start in the season finale against the Patriots?

Truth be told, the Jets may not even need to have a discussion about this.
Neither Trevor Siemian nor Brett Rypien will likely be a part of their QB room next season, and what’s the worst that could happen by giving Wilson another chance?
They know they’re not going to keep him around either, so it’s not like there’s anything he can do to convince them otherwise.
Still, a good game could give the former second-overall pick just enough leverage to get himself a new team.
Wilson was always put in a tough spot, and while he failed to impress and live up to the task of being a franchise quarterback, some young players just need more time to figure things out.
