The Miami Dolphins take on their toughest opponent yet this week in the Baltimore Ravens, one week after they took down the Dallas Cowboys.
It’s a matchup that could shift power in the AFC, as a win for Miami would make them tied with Baltimore for the AFC’s No. 1 seed and put them on a path for home-field advantage throughout the playoffs if they also beat the Buffalo Bills the following week.
But the game won’t be easy: The Ravens have the best defense in football, one of the best offenses in football led by MVP candidate Lamar Jackson, and just beat the San Francisco 49ers handily this past week.
However, this game does present the Dolphins an opportunity to prove to the NFL they can compete with the best in the league for a Super Bowl.
“We move [sic] been waiting for the opportunity to play the NFL’s best,” Mike McDaniel said, via reporter Omar Kelly. “As competitors, we want to go against the best.”

Before this past week, the Dolphins hadn’t beaten a quality opponent all season.
Miami was 10-4 with losses against the Bills, the Philadelphia Eagles, the Kansas City Chiefs, and the Tennessee Titans.
The Week 16 win over the Cowboys was big for proving doubters wrong, and another victory this week would squarely put the Dolphins among the best in the league.
Miami’s offense is clearly at the top with an NFL-leading 30.9 points per game, but that alone isn’t enough to win a Super Bowl with big defensive battles on the horizon.
