The New Orleans Saints picked up an important win in Week 17 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The Saints came into the afternoon on the playoff bubble, but the win over the Buccaneers was huge given the NFC South stakes.
New Orleans can win the division if they win next week and Tampa Bay loses.
However, the Buccaneers can still hold on to win the NFC South outright if they win in Week 18.
While the Saints need a little help to win their division, they’re still in a position to make the postseason if things break their way in Week 17.
Although Derek Carr did enough to beat the Buccaneers, he still hasn’t convinced Terry Bradshaw that he’s the right quarterback for the team via Rod Walker of The Times-Picayune.
“Derek Carr, although he’s played well the last 2 weeks, he is not the answer. They’ve got to find themselves a quarterback down there. They are a good football team, well coached by Dennis Allen. But they sorely need that great quarterback to build around,’ Bradshaw said.

Carr threw for a meager 197 passing yards and two touchdowns in the win over Tampa Bay, a solid performance though one that won’t wow people like Bradshaw.
The veteran has been up and down for most of the 2023 NFL season, though some of that has to do with injuries that have forced him to miss time.
The Saints signed Carr to a four-year deal this past offseason, so he likely has the starting job for at least one more season.
However, Bradshaw might have a point as it feels like they’re leaving some meat on the bone.
