The Miami Dolphins’ loss to the Baltimore Ravens in Week 17 had dire consequences.
Not only did Miami drop to 11-5, miss out on the No. 1 seed in the AFC and could potentially lose the AFC East, but the Dolphins also lost standout pass rusher Bradley Chubb to a torn ACL.
Chubb suffered the injury late in Miami’s 56-19 loss, and the team confirmed the news Monday morning.
Fans were upset not just because of how Chubb’s absence would affect the Dolphins’ playoff chances, but also because they didn’t understand why Chubb was still in the game in the fourth quarter when it was clear at that point the Ravens would win.
I still don’t understand why Bradley Chubb was in the game. The Ravens had Tyler Huntley at QB and Melvin Gordon at RB. There’s no reason for your stars to be on the field when your opponent is playing reserves. Poor coaching.

Down by 30 in the final minutes of a game that was not going to be won…starters had no business still being in the game

Coach had all their starters on the field… that’s on the coach.

There goes their defense
And will hurt them from winning the division

Chubb led the Dolphins with 11 sacks on the year and needed just one more to match his career-high of 12 in one season.
He was traded to the Dolphins from the Denver Broncos midway through the 2022 season.
The loss of Chubb is huge for the Dolphins, who will now face the Buffalo Bills next week in a game that would decide the winner of the AFC East and a home playoff game.
The Dolphins lost another key pass rusher already this year after Jaelan Phillips tore his Achilles in Week 12.
Without Chubb or Phillips, the Dolphins will need to rely on their depth.
They could also look to add someone off free agency.
The Dolphins, who still have the best scoring offense in the NFL, will now have an even-more depleted defense that just gave up 56 points to the best team in the NFL.
