The Philadelphia Eagles entered the 2023 NFL Season with high expectations.
While they were coming off a loss in the Super Bowl, they were confident in their ability to be one of the NFC’s top teams, which would serve them well for another potential Super Bowl run.
They started the year strong, an early indication that this team was back with a vengeance.
However, they have since faded, losing three of their last four games, including their most recent loss to the Arizona Cardinals.
After seeing this recent collapse, many fans and analysts have tried to figure out the root of the team’s issues.
In a video he shared on Twitter, Emmanuel Acho pointed to three fundamental problems that he sees with the Eagles.
Acho talked about the Eagles’ defense, saying they have bad eyes, bad play-calling, and bad gap integrity.
I’m gonna show you 3 of the first 4 Eagles defensive plays and teach you exactly why they’re so bad. It’s all in the secrets of the details.

• Bad gap integrity

With all three of these aspects in mind, Acho doesn’t find it hard to believe that the Eagles had a 15-point collapse to the Cardinals.
Their secondary has been considered leaky for the past several weeks, but this loss to the Cardinals was a big eye-opener, internally and to analysts like Acho.
If they want any chances of making a deep postseason run, something has to change for this team.
If current trends persist, they will have difficulty keeping up with teams like the San Francisco 49ers, Detroit Lions, and Dallas Cowboys.
The Eagles’ recent skid has jeopardized their chances of winning the NFC East, leaving them potentially without home-field advantage in their first playoff game.
