For the first time in two decades, there’s a legitimate chance that we won’t get to see Bill Belichick coaching the New England Patriots.
All rumors and reports point toward the team parting ways with their legendary coach.
However, even though the reports have been out there for weeks and there are even some rumors about his potential destinations, he has refused to engage in talks about this matter.
That won’t change as we head toward the final week of the regular season.
When confronted by the media about this situation, Belichick had one of his best answers yet (via Mike Reiss).
“Whatever success I have had, I’ve tried to go about my job the same way every week — win, lose, good years, bad years, whatever they are,” Belichick said.
Bill Belichick, to @TheGregHillShow, after fielding multiple questions relating to the future and why he doesn’t entertain them: “Whatever success I have had, I’ve tried to go about my job the same way every week — win, lose, good years, bad years, whatever they are.

I don’t know what the Patriots’ plans are after this season, but one thing that is indisputable about Bill Belichick is that no coach has done a better job of being singularly focused on preparing his team for the task at hand.

The lifelong coach claimed that he is always going to take the same approach every week, win or lose, good or bad.
He believes he’s committed to the team he’s coaching and the players he has right now, and thinking about the past or focusing on the future wouldn’t allow him to be at his best and do his job at the highest level.
He just wants to take a week-to-week approach and focus on the opponent he’s about to face, and then at the end of the season, it’s just the end of the season.
That has always been his mindset and approach, and that’s not going to change now just because of all the rumors of him getting fired.
Even if that’s the case, it shouldn’t take long before multiple GMs come knocking at his door trying to get him to sign with their respective teams.
