The New England Patriots are one of a few franchises that will be undergoing so major changes following the conclusion of the 2023 NFL season.
The Patriots are in desperate need of a roster overhaul and could also part ways with legendary head coach Bill Belichick.
There have been plenty of reports suggesting that New England will part ways with Belichick, but the organization must take into account how much better the team has looked over the past month or so.
Aside from the Belichick situation, the Patriots will also need to address their quarterback position considering the lackluster play of Mac Jones and Bailey Zappe.
As things stand now, New England owns the No. 3 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft which would put them at risk of missing out on USC’s Caleb Williams and UNC’s Drake Maye.
However, Peter Schrager lays out how the Patriots could still move up to No. 2 via his personal Twitter account.
“If the Patriots lose to the Jets and the Falcons beat the Saints, the Patriots could still leapfrog Washington in the draft order and get the No. 2 overall pick,” Schrager said.
Patriots fans need to root like hell for the Falcons to beat the Saints this weekend.

Schrager says that no matter what happens between the Washington Commanders and Dallas Cowboys, New England can move up if it loses to the New York Jets and the Atlanta Falcons beat the New Orleans Saints.
The Commanders currently own the No. 2 pick and could take Williams or Maye because of their own uncertain quarterback situation.
Fortunately for the Patriots, even if they end up staying put at No. 3 they could still take someone like Marvin Harrison Jr. or one of the other quarterback prospects like LSU’s Jayden Daniels or Oregon’s Bo Nix.
However, securing the No. 2 pick would help Patriots fans stomach the terrible year so they’ll definitely be pulling for the Falcons.
