In recent weeks, the Philadelphia Eagles have not looked like the NFC contender they were projected to be heading into the year.
They have lost four of their past five games, including their most recent loss to the Arizona Cardinals.
Many analysts and former players have tried to figure out this team’s biggest problem and how they can improve.
In a recent appearance on the Dan Patrick Show, Devin McCourty said that it all boils down to a “confidence” issue.

He believes the Eagles have the necessary talent to compete, but for whatever reason, confidence is an issue that has plagued this team.
McCourty said the Eagles “keep waiting, but it’s not happening.”
It seems, at least to McCourty, that the Eagles were waiting for something to happen that never came.
Now, they’ll have to fight in their final game of the season, hoping the Dallas Cowboys lose and they can secure the NFC East.
Otherwise, the Eagles will enter the playoffs as a Wild Card team without home-field advantage in their first game.
This is rare territory for this team, especially after clinching the No. 1 seed in the 2022 season.
They can still turn things around with their talent level on the roster, but they’ll need to dig deep and do it quickly.
If they don’t turn it around soon, the Eagles could be watching the later rounds of the playoffs from their couches rather than competing in the games.
Their defense has struggled lately, primarily their secondary.
If Jalen Hurts and the offense can come out hot in any game, they will give this team a leg up on the competition, hoping to solve their woes.
