The Detroit Lions participated in one of the most exciting games of the holiday season.
After scoring a late touchdown in the fourth quarter against the Dallas Cowboys, they decided to go for a two-point conversion.
This would put them up by one point rather than playing it safe with an extra point.
While it was viewed as risky, the Lions converted on their two-pointer on their first try.
So they thought, anyhow.
It was revealed that one of their offensive linemen didn’t report as an eligible receiver, which negated their two-point attempt.
After seeing this, Lions fans have been outraged with the NFL’s officiating and have taken to billboards to express their discontent.
Tom Pelissero shared an image of one billboard on Twitter, which read “Decker Reported.”

The aftermath of this play resulted in the NFL coming out with a statement defining the rules of reporting a positional change.
They want to cover their bases, especially since this play received a lot of attention on social media.
Regardless of the NFL’s response, the Lions felt wronged by the officiating crew and their decision.
As it is well-documented to this point, the Lions got two more opportunities to convert the two-point play, failing on both.
They ended up losing to the Cowboys, which hurt their chances of securing the No. 2 seed in the NFC.
The Lions are still slated to have home-field advantage in their first-round playoff game, but that could be their only home game, depending on how everything else plays out.
