The Toronto Blue Jays tried to sign Shohei Ohtani, and they were one of the two finalists.
The player eventually chose the Los Angeles Dodgers, but he was reportedly seriously considering the Jays.
Then, the Blue Jays also looked at Yoshinobu Yamamoto, and failed to bring him in, too.
Fortunately for Toronto, the offseason is not yet complete: they still have some time to make some moves, and there are some high-profile names still available.
What is the franchise planning to do? Which positions are they looking to fill?
General manager Ross Atkins talked to the media and discussed what is next for the Blue Jays.
“On a call with Toronto media, #BlueJays GM Ross Atkins says “we feel really good about the team that we have,” while adding that Jays continue exploring lineup upgrades, “most likely be in the outfield or DH category, but we’re not limited to that,” Jays insider Ben Nicholson-Smith tweeted.

The Blue Jays rotation is, when healthy, one of the strongest in the league.
It has Kevin Gausman, Jose Berrios, Chris Bassitt, Yusei Kikuchi, and Alek Manoah, plus Trevor Richards and pitching prospect Ricky Tiedemann.
However, their lineup can use another productive bat.
So far, they have brought back center fielder Kevin Kiermaier and signed utilityman Isiah Kiner-Falefa.
They know, however, that they need more firepower if they want to compete with the Baltimore Orioles, the Tampa Bay Rays, and the rest of the AL East powerhouses.
They are reportedly interested in Cody Bellinger and could bring back Matt Chapman.
If they don’t bring in more upgrades to the lineup, Kiner-Falefa might end up playing a lot, which might not be ideal.
In any case, the Jays’ offseason is far from done.
