As the hottest team in the NFL, the Baltimore Ravens will head into the NFL playoffs as the top seed in the AFC, with the team sporting a record of 13-3 and superstar quarterback Lamar Jackson well on his way to winning a second NFL MVP award.
With the Ravens locking up the No. 1 seed in the conference, the team has decided they won’t play Jackson in the regular-season finale against the Pittsburgh Steelers at home at M&T Bank Stadium.
Most teams in the league that have secured their spot in the postseason have decided to sit some of their stars in the regular-season finale this weekend in order to keep their respective squads as healthy as possible.
Even though there’s not much to win for the Ravens in Week 18 other than adding to their already impressive record, some stars can get bent out of shape about being forced to sit, but that doesn’t appear to be the case with Jackson.
According to Jamison Hensley of ESPN, Jackson doesn’t have any problem with sitting out against the division-rival Steelers on Saturday.
“I’m cool with it,” Jackson said.

Jackson and the Ravens have one sole focus moving forward, and that’s to stay as healthy as possible before heading into the NFL playoffs, as they’ll be arguably the team to beat in the AFC.
Only time will tell if the Ravens can stay healthy while maintaining their status as the league’s elite team, as Baltimore is firing on all cylinders at just the right time and could be headed for Las Vegas to contend for a Super Bowl title in February as a result.
