The 2023 NFL Pro Bowl rosters have officially been released.
Players are selected through fan voting and votes from players and coaches.
This system has been implemented to make the selections more balanced, but viable candidates are snubbed yearly.
After seeing the entire roster, many fans and analysts have complained about Josh Allen being excluded, including David Helman via the NFL on FOX podcast.
Helman started his conversation by saying, “He only leads the NFL in touchdowns with 42.”

Helman believes Allen should have been selected for the Pro Bowl by that metric alone.
Yes, he has struggled with interceptions, but in Helman’s eyes, he is a valuable member of the Bills’ roster and among the NFL’s best quarterbacks.
However, Helman recognized that, while he would favor adding Allen to the AFC Pro Bowl roster, it would likely boot Patrick Mahomes from the team.
Helman called this a “scary thing,” adding, “I wouldn’t feel comfortable doing it either,” knowing Mahomes’ track record to this point in his career.
While he would be uncomfortable in this situation, he did mention that Allen’s performances have been far better than Mahomes’ this season.
Mahomes has thrown for more yards, but with more total touchdowns attributed to him, Allen has arguably done more for his team.
The Pro Bowl rosters have been out for less than 24 hours at this point.
It will be interesting to see the additional fallback from this snub and if fans and analysts will make more similar remarks about other snubbed players.
