After another disappointing season, the New England Patriots will limp to the finish line this weekend when they host the division-rival New York Jets at Gillette Stadium in their regular-season finale, which will bring their 2023 campaign to an end.
With the Patriots’ season about to end against the Jets this weekend, the one question that everyone wants answered is whether legendary head coach Bill Belichick will be fired by longtime owner Robert Kraft.
There’s been a lot of speculation on this topic throughout the entire season, with some being convinced he’ll get let go and others believing Kraft will give him another shot after supposedly signing him to a contract extension last offseason.
One report that came out during the season was that Belichick’s job was on the line when the team traveled to Germany to take on the Indianapolis Colts, which ultimately resulted in another disappointing loss for New England.
Tom Curran of NBC Sports Boston is apparently sticking by his report that the team has already decided to part ways with Belichick but leaves the door open for the 71-year-old to change Kraft’s mind via The Dan Patrick Show.
“As I reported in mid-December, at that juncture, after they had come out of Germany, conversations I had indicated strongly that the Patriots were going to part ways with Bill at the end of the season. The decision had been made,” Curran said.

At this point in time, it seems inevitable that Belichick will be let go, or there will be an agreement to part ways to avoid the ugly “fired” word being tossed around.
Fortunately for Belichick, there will be no shortage of job openings if he is let go by the Patriots, with the Los Angeles Chargers being a potential landing spot for the future Hall of Famer.
