The Chicago Bears were one of the most disappointing teams in the league this season.
They were supposed to be a dark horse candidate to win the NFC North, and some thought Justin Fields was going to play at an MVP-caliber level.
That obviously wasn’t the case, but he’s been better since coming back from an injury.
That’s why former Super Bowl champion James Jones doesn’t believe the Bears should move on from him in the offseason.
Talking on FOX’s Speak, Jones stated that if he were the GM of the Bears, he’d try to motivate Fields to get a win at Lambeau Field in the regular season finale:
“I’m trading that first-overall pick as a GM,” Jones said. “I’m getting three more first-round picks. You guys want Caleb Williams so bad? Give me three first-round picks. The Bears now have four, right? So, I go and get Marvin Harrison Jr., I go and get another pass-rusher to go on the other side of [Montez] Sweat, I might go get another corner to go on the other side of my Pro Bowl corner, and I got a team in this division in which I truly believe Justin Fields can win this division.”

He believes that, should Fields pull off the upset over the Green Bay Packers, it would be more than enough reason to stick with him.
The Bears could have a plethora of assets to use in the upcoming NFL Draft by trading that No. 1 pick, and it would be more than enough to address most of their needs.
They’ve had one of the best defenses in the league since trading for Montez Sweat, so this isn’t that far-fetched.
Then again, sticking with Fields would most likely require a change in the coaching staff, as they’ve been reluctant to game plan according to his strengths.
On top of that, as good as he’s looked at times, he’s also struggled mightily, and he’s been quite injury-prone, not to mention the fact that Caleb Williams has the highest upside in this stacked QB class.
