The Dallas Cowboys did what they needed to do and took care of business.
There were some doubts about their ability to take down the Washington Commanders on the road, as they had underperformed in big games — especially away from home, not to mention the fact that Ron Rivera’s team had already beaten them in last year’s season finale.
That’s why Michael Irvin tipped his hat to Mike McCarthy’s team for not getting distracted and handling their business.
Talking on Undisputed, the legendary wide receiver praised the big-money guys for showing up and not leaving anything to chance:
“That was an excellent game to go into the playoffs off of. The big money guys stepped up and showed out,” Irvin said.

The Cowboys depended on themselves and controlled their own destiny, knowing that not even a win by the Philadelphia Eagles was enough to take them down from the No. 1 spot in the division if they also won their game.
Now, they’ve secured at least two home games in the playoffs- assuming they win their Wild Card game.
They’re going to host Mike McCarthy’s former team, the Green Bay Packers, which is obviously going to be a nice storyline to follow for the upcoming week.
The Cowboys should find little trouble getting past the younger team in the playoffs, and they’re currently riding a league-best 16-game winning streak at home, so there’s no room for excuses at this moment.
Then again, given how this team has fared throughout the course of the years, some will continue to be skeptical about them until they prove they can win consistently when it matters the most.
