The Boston Red Sox are coming off a disappointing 2023 season.
For the second straight season, they finished 78-84.
That is not going to cut it in a city that cares so much about the success of its baseball team.
Heading into 2024, there is not a lot of optimism surrounding the team.
But, they still have some good players that can play them into contention.
One player that needs to have a big year is Trevor Story.
He has played two seasons with the Red Sox since signing with them in 2022.
Neither season has been impressive.
Last year, Story batted .203 across 43 games.
He spent most of the season recovering from UCL surgery in this throwing elbow.
Not making his season debut until August put a damper on his season.
As pointed out by Tyler Milliken on Twitter, Story seems to have himself in great shape so far this offseason.
Hell of a difference a year makes for Trevor Story as he builds up for the season.
He’ll be hosting his camp down in Dallas in the coming weeks for infielders in the Red Sox organization. Vaughn Grissom will be attending.

During his days as a Colorado Rockie, he had three straight top-12 MVP finishes.
Boston is hoping Story can get back to playing at that level.
The 31-year-old infielder has the potential to put up monster numbers in Fenway Park.
The Green Monster could allow him to gain many more hits that other stadiums would not allow.
Story has always been known as one of the best power-hitting shortstops in baseball.
The team is hoping he can get back to playing at that level this year.
The AL East may be one of the most competitive divisions in baseball next season.
Boston is going to have a difficult time making their return to the playoffs.
