The Philadelphia Eagles enter the 2023 postseason with back-to-back losses against bad teams.
The Eagles lost on a last-minute touchdown against the Arizona Cardinals before being blown out by the New York Giants to end the year.
While the Eagles still made the playoffs, Philadelphia dropped to the No. 5 seed and now will play on the road against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
A lot of fingers are beginning to be directed toward head coach Nick Sirianni, who has failed to correct issues on offense and defense during the Eagles’ losing stretch.
These problems prompted FOX Sports analyst Colin Cowherd to compare Sirianni to one of the head coaches already fired this season – former Los Angeles Chargers head coach Brandon Staley.
Cowherd mentioned defensive and argumentative press conferences and the regression of each coach’s respective quarterback as examples of similarities between Sirianni and Staley.
“If Nick Siranni were fired, would anyone hire him to be their head coach?”

The insinuation here is that the Eagles need to find a better head coach than Sirianni despite his 10-1 start to the season and after he reached the Super Bowl a year ago.
And while Sirianni has been solid recently, the rapid decline of one of the best teams in the NFL is concerning, especially at the end of the season with a division crown on the line.
Sirianni has a chance to shake off the problems of the regular season with a deep postseason run, but the past few weeks haven’t indicated that the Eagles can beat even the worst teams in the NFL.
They’ll have an opportunity to prove themselves, though, against the Buccaneers in the wildcard round.
