The Dallas Cowboys were able to secure the No. 2 seed in the NFC with their win over the Washington Commanders in Week 18, and now will host the Green Bay Packers during Wild Card weekend.
The Cowboys went on a second-half run during the 2023 NFL season and look like one of the few Super Bowl contenders in the playoffs.
Dallas has a real shot to make their first Super Bowl appearance in years, and while the offense has been clicking it’s the defense that could propel them there.
Under defensive coordinator Dan Quinn, the Cowboys boast one of the best defensive units in the league and that should give them an edge in most playoff matchups.
Dallas was stingy throughout the regular season and they ended up leading the NFL in several defensive categories via Ed Werder of ESPN.

The Cowboys made plays defensively every week, giving the offense more opportunities to score and easing the burden off players like Dak Prescott.
Micah Parsons wreaked havoc up front, while the secondary had people like DaRon Bland causing trouble for opposing offenses.
Quinn is one of the most sought-after people during this head coaching hiring cycle, though he still has a job to do in Dallas.
Owner Jerry Jones has been hell-bent on winning another Super Bowl, and this iteration of the team might be his best shot of adding to the franchise’s trophy collection.
