The Bill Belichick era is officially over in New England.
Belichick helped create a dynasty for the Patriots, a feat that will not soon be forgotten.
Fans and analysts have quickly scrambled in the aftermath of his departure, trying to rationalize where he will end up next.
While Jerod Mayo has emerged as the heir apparent for Belichick, Jonathan Jones pointed to the Atlanta Falcons as the “most logical” landing spot for the veteran coach.

Despite not making the playoffs, the Falcons seemingly had a chance to sneak into the postseason in their final game of the year.
They weren’t able to do so, resulting in the quick firing of Arthur Smith.
The Falcons have found success in the past, but the last several years haven’t yielded the results they have hoped for.
Adding a coach of Belichick’s pedigree could be exactly what this team needs to take the next step forward, especially knowing the young talent on their roster.
Over the past three years, the Falcons have made significant investments on both sides of the ball.
Their offense includes Bijan Robinson, Drake London, and Kyle Pitts, three of the most highly-touted skill-position players from the past three drafts.
With this in mind, this could be a logical landing spot for Belichick, as Jones points out.
With the right coach and a new quarterback to lead them, it seems that the Falcons could make some serious noise in the NFC.
