The Philadelphia Eagles head into the playoffs losers of five of their past six games.
Bad defensive plays, inconsistent offensive plays, and injuries have played a role in all of that, but quarterback Jalen Hurts hasn’t given away any of the real reasons why the team has floundered lately.
Hurts gave a cryptic answer when asked by reporters why the players checked to a different play than the coaches gave them in the waning moments of the Week 15 loss to the Seattle Seahawks.
“There’s a lot that you guys don’t know,” Hurts said. “In fact, you don’t know what you don’t know.”

It’s unclear what Hurts meant by this or if it was just a bit of verbal chicanery, but there appears to be a lot going behind the scenes with the Eagles that the general public isn’t aware of – either for good or for bad.
Whatever it is isn’t working, though, as three of the Eagles’ five losses were to the Seahawks, Arizona Cardinals, and New York Giants – none of which made the playoffs this year.
That last-minute loss to the Seahawks capped off three consecutive defeats for Philadelphia and was effectively when the Eagles gave up control of the NFC East.
The Dallas Cowboys swooped in to win the East in the final week after the Eagles lost their final two games as well.
Philadelphia doesn’t have much time to correct these issues ahead of their wildcard clash with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers where the Eagles will need to resolve whatever Hurts is talking about.
