The Washington Commanders found their next general manager and are now on the hunt for a new head coach.
The team reportedly hired San Francisco 49ers assistant GM Adam Peters after seven solid seasons where he helped John Lynch curate a roster that now sits at No. 1 in the NFC.
Who Peters and new owner Josh Harris will want in their next head coach remains to be seen, but ESPN NFL insider Jeremy Fowler believes Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson could be their primary target to replace Ron Rivera.
Some league circles are watching a potential pairing of Lions OC Ben Johnson with newly appointed GM Adam Peters in Washington. #Commanders now have lengthy HC search ahead but Johnson will be coveted by many.

Johnson has helped orchestrate one of the best offenses in the NFL this season in Detroit with Jared Goff under center and a quality collection of skill players.
Johnson was a highly-coveted head coaching candidate this past offseason, too, but decided to stay with the Lions in an effort to make a postseason push.
Detroit did just that this season and won the NFC North for the first time since 1993.
The Commanders aren’t an awful landing spot anymore with new ownership, a new GM, and the No. 2 overall pick that could be used on a quarterback or offensive lineman.
Washington’s skill-position players are good, too, with receivers Terry McLaurin and Jahan Dotson out wide and running back Brian Robinson Jr. in the backfield.
