The Los Angeles Chargers continue their pursuit of a new head coach.
Jim Harbaugh has yet to make — or announce — a decision about his coaching future, but he’s heavily expected to get back to the National Football League.
With that in mind, NFL insider Tom Pelissero reports that the Chargers are expected to meet with him at some point next week.
Things are about to ramp up for Jim Harbaugh: It’s believed the #Chargers will speak with him next week, amidst ongoing internal debate in Las Vegas and negotiations with Michigan, which won’t give him up without a fight. Details from me and @RapSheet: https://t.co/MyD2onjoYv

However, the report also states that the University of Michigan is trying to hold onto him, and they’ll continue to negotiate with him.
Harbaugh was suspended this past NCAA season, and there are rumors that he may face another suspension.
That’s why most people believe the timing is perfect for him to make a comeback to the NFL, as he’s been sought-after for quite a while now.
Harbaugh coached the Wolverines to a National Championship and would walk away on the top of the world, so it would definitely make sense.
As for the Chargers, they’ve been on the verge of contention for quite a while now, but poor coaching and tough luck have held them back over and over.
They’re an appealing destination for any head coach, as they already have an explosive and talented offense in play and a franchise quarterback in Justin Herbert.
Harbaugh is an experienced and respected figure in the football scene, and he might be just what this team needs to get over the hump once and for all, but the Wolverines continue to hold onto the hope that he’s back in Ann Arbor next season.
