The Philadelphia Eagles can’t seem to catch a break right now.
On top of their current slump, they will now be without one of their best players for their Monday night wild card matchup with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, star W.R. A.J. Brown will miss the game with a knee injury, but he’s expected to be available next week if the team advances to the NFC Divisional Round.
Eagles’ WR A.J. Brown, who worked hard in his rehab to try to make it back this week, is out for Monday night’s wild-card matchup vs. the Bucs due to his sprained knee, per sources. The former Tennesee Titans star injured his knee in the regular season finale during the loss to the New York Giants.
He missed his second straight practice on Friday and also made the news for wiping out all Eagles-related information and pictures from his Instagram account and deactivating his Twitter account.
At least both Jalen Hurts and DeVonta Smith have been full participants at practice and are fully expected to be healthy and play in this must-win matchup.
The Eagles started off the season 10-1 but lost five of their last six games.
They wasted multiple opportunities to run away with the NFC East Division and get the No. 2 seed in the NFC, and they’re on upset alert against a tough Buccaneers defense that could give them a lot of trouble.
Crazy as it may seem, this has put Nick Sirianni on the hot seat, as he seems to have lost his locker room’s trust.
It’s not usual to see a team firing a coach just one year after making this Super Bowl, but their meltdown hasn’t been usual, either.
