On the brink of a 0-3 start to the 2023 NFL season, the Los Angeles Chargers managed to hold off the Minnesota Vikings to earn their first victory of the year.
The Chargers have held leads in each of their first three games, but have somehow managed to find ways to blow them and play catch up.
There is a case to be made that Los Angeles should be 0-3, but ill-timed plays and decisions have instead plunged them toward the bottom of the AFC standings.
Defensively, the Chargers have severely underwhelmed despite featuring some of the best players on that side of the ball.
The secondary has particularly been disappointing, most notably J.C. Jackson who was a surprise inactive in the Week 3 win against the Vikings.
Ahead of their Week 4 matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders, head coach Brandon Staley said he expects Jackson to be active via Charean Williams of ProFootballTalk.

Jackson was L.A.’s premier free agent signing last offseason when they handed him a five-year, $82.5 million contract to be their star cornerback.
However, Jackson has been unable to recapture his form as he has been routinely burned in coverage against opposing receivers.
The defensive back said he was confused by his benching but Staley retorted that the decision was communicated clearly to him and that he was aware of why.
Either way, it sounds like Staley and Jackson have been able to work things out and moved past the situation.
Fortunately for Jackson, he should have an easier time against the Raiders who will likely be without Jimmy Garoppolo due to a concussion.
