The Pittsburgh Steelers have been rebuilding ever since the retirement of legendary quarterback Ben Roethlisberger following the 2021 season, and the initial optimism for this season has worn off.
Although they’re 2-1 and have won their last two games, those two wins have come by a combined nine points, and Roethlisberger’s replacement, Kenny Pickett, is struggling in his second season.
There is a terrific quarterback by the name of Caleb Williams who will be in next year’s draft and is expected to go No. 1 overall, and Colin Cowherd says the Steelers should pretty much give up the farm in order to be able to draft him.
Cowherd suggested they trade star pass rusher T.J. Watt, stud wide receiver George Pickens, and three first-round draft picks.
Attention #Steelers fans. Brain-dead @ColinCowherd has come up with a terrific plan to fix your team. This is what he would give up for Caleb Williams.

Although Williams could end up becoming a superstar in the NFL, that is simply too steep a price to pay.
Watt is 28 years of age and the centerpiece of Pittsburgh’s defense, not to mention someone who has made the Pro Bowl in each of the last five seasons, while Pickens is an up-and-coming wideout.
Pickett has so far thrown for 689 yards, four touchdowns, and three interceptions while completing just 59.6 percent of his pass attempts and posting an 802 passer rating.
Patience is key when going through a rebuilding project, and teams that get restless and give up a lot for a promising draft prospect don’t often succeed in doing so.
The best option for the Steelers would likely be to build incrementally and organically rather than mortgage their future for one stud college QB who may or may not be all that in the pros.
