C.J. Stroud and the Houston Texans put the NFL on notice after they dismantled the Cleveland Browns in the first Wild Card game of the NFL postseason.
The Texans put up 45 points in the win behind Stroud’s three passing touchdowns and a stout defense.
That playoff debut continued a rookie campaign for Stroud that could end with an Offensive Rookie of the Year award, but FOX Sports analyst Ben Arthur added that Stroud’s mastery should strike fear into the heart of whichever team the Texans face next week.
“Whoever they end up facing in the divisional round, you have to have some fear if you’re that other team,” Arthur said. “You just can’t really predict where this is going just because of C.J. Stroud’s greatness.”

The Texans’ next opponent will depend entirely on who wins between the Buffalo Bills and the Pittsburgh Steelers, as Houston would travel to face the Baltimore Ravens if the Bills win or head to play the Kansas City Chiefs if the Steelers win.
Both teams have good defenses, but Stroud proved this past weekend that a top-flight defensive unit isn’t enough to rattle him.
The Browns’ secondary allowed the fewest passing yards during the regular season but Stroud finished with 280 passing yards – most of which came in the first half when Houston built its lead.
The Ravens and Chiefs are built a little differently defensively, but nevertheless might not have enough to stop Stroud if he continues to play as well as he has over the past three weeks.
