Coming into Wild Card Weekend, the Dallas Cowboys had the ideal situation, with the team playing on its home field of AT&T Stadium while hosting the seventh-seeded Green Bay Packers, who were barely able to make it into the NFL playoffs.
Unfortunately for Dallas, this game turned out to be another epic playoff collapse for the Cowboys, with America’s Team letting Jordan Love and company do whatever they wanted in the first half, leading to a halftime score of 27-7.
The Cowboys couldn’t recover from the Packers dominating in the first half, as Green Bay went on to score 48 points and crush Dak Prescott and company on their home field in Arlington, Texas.
Now that the dust has settled on the ugly playoff loss for the Cowboys, head coach Mike McCarthy is on shaky ground as he could be let go, and Prescott might no longer be in line to sign another long-term lucrative contract extension.
Emmanuel Acho of FOX Sports believes Prescott has “ruined” his shot at signing another contract extension with the team, via “Speak” on FS1.

Even though Prescott threw for over 400 yards and three touchdowns in the loss to the Packers, a lot of those numbers came in garbage time when the game was practically over.
With a 2-5 record in the postseason, it’s hard to justify Prescott getting paid again while securing more years as this team’s starting quarterback, especially with all the pressure on the franchise to win and win now.
It’ll be interesting to see if longtime team owner Jerry Jones has a change of heart and starts considering looking for another franchise quarterback.
