Last week, the Seattle Seahawks became one of the surprise teams in the NFL to decide to make a change at the head coaching position, with Pete Carroll assuming a different role with the franchise moving forward.
Along with the Tennessee Titans parting ways with Mike Vrabel, the Seahawks having a vacancy at head coach was not expected, to say the least.
That said, the coaching job in Seattle has become a desirable position for those looking to be a head coach for the 2024 NFL season.
Immediately after it was announced that Carroll would no longer be the team’s head coach, Dallas Cowboys defensive coordinator Dan Quinn became a leading candidate for the job in Seattle.
On Monday, following the Cowboys losing to the Green Bay Packers in the first round in the NFL playoffs, the Seahawks requested permission from Dallas to interview Quinn for the head coaching job in Seattle, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.
The #Seahawks have begun putting out interview slips, and the first is no surprise: They’ve requested #Cowboys DC Dan Quinn, per source.

The Seahawks don’t seem to be wasting any time trying to get who they want in Seattle for the foreseeable future, with Quinn being rumored to be the team’s top target for the head coaching gig.
Seattle’s chances of landing Quinn likely improved with the Cowboys flaming out in epic fashion against the Packers on Sunday, but it remains to be seen what happens in Dallas and whether he’s a candidate to replace Mike McCarthy if that’s the route longtime owner Jerry Jones wants to take.
It’ll be interesting to see how things pan out for the Seahawks and Cowboys, as both teams could look much different on the sideline next season.
