Taylor Swift and the NFL were a match made in heaven.
It was a combination of one of the most famous women on Earth and the most popular source of entertainment in the United States.
That’s why the league wasted no time in making the most of it in showing her at games as early and often as possible, sometimes to a fault.
Notably, Tony Dungy blamed her for an alleged disinterest in NFL action, which is not what the ratings said.
With that in mind, Stephen A. Smith took the liberty of calling him out on his podcast, stating that he usually agrees with Dungy, but he was out of line this time.
“It’s getting ridiculous, how she’s being criticized by some, insulted by others, blamed by many,” Smith said.

Smith pointed out the great ratings from this season, asking people to just let Taylor Swift live her life.
In all fairness, it’s not like she’s asking to be featured on camera after every play or before every commercial break; she’s just there to support Travis Kelce.
It’s not a secret that Kelce’s production has taken a massive dip this season, but to blame his relationship with Taylor Swift for that might be unfair and insufficient.
At the end of the day, celebrities are human beings, just like the rest of us, and they have every right to enjoy a good football game just like everybody else.
And while it might be a little tiring to see her on camera after every touchdown, it clearly hasn’t had any kind of toll on this year’s NFL viewership whatsoever.
