After a partnership that lasted over two decades and resulted in six Super Bowl titles won, the New England Patriots and legendary head coach Bill Belichick agreed to part ways last week, making him a free agent and an attractive option for teams around the league looking for a new leader on the sideline.
Belichick will have no shortage of suitors on the open market and has already reportedly interviewed with the Atlanta Falcons, but he may not be an option for the Philadelphia Eagles if the team decides to fire head coach Nick Sirianni after the playoff collapse against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers during Wild Card Weekend.
It appears that Sirianni, despite leading the Eagles to the Super Bowl last year, might be on the verge of losing his job in Philadelphia due to the team falling apart during the second half of the 2023 campaign.
According to Howard Eskin of SPORTSRADIO 94WIP, Eagles owner Jeff Laurie won’t be looking in Belichick’s direction if the team decides to bring in a new head coach via Joe Giglio of SPORTSRADIO 94WIP.
“I can tell you this for a fact, Jeff Laurie is not a fan of Belicheat,” Eskin said. “I can tell you that.”

If this is indeed true, Belichick won’t have the opportunity to start fresh with the Eagles and will have to look elsewhere to continue his coaching career in the NFL.
The real question is who the team would target and what chances the franchise has of landing a potential game-changing head coach on the open market.
