The Cleveland Browns found a way to make the playoffs despite their adversity during the regular season.
Deshaun Watson was hurt most of the year, and their quarterback room was a carousel after he fell to injury.
Even though many would consider a playoff berth a success for this injury-ridden roster, it doesn’t appear that the organization shares the same sentiment.
According to Ian Rapoport and Josina Anderson, the Browns have decided to let go of three of their coaches.
It appears that Kevin Stefanski will stick around as head coach, but their other offensive coaches were not so lucky.
As Rapoport highlights, Stump Mitchell, TC McCartney, and Alex Van Pelt have all been relieved of their duties.
I’m told Alex Van Pelt informed some of members of the team yesterday he was let go Tuesday afternoon upon hearing this specific news & received messages of condolences to that end, along with Mitchell and McCartney per source. https://t.co/rWdOOZAPi9

On the surface, this might seem like an egregious firing to the average fan.
The instant response was not positive, making them wonder why this move was made.
Yes, the Browns ultimately fell short of a Super Bowl, but when Joe Flacco took over the reins as their starting quarterback, they averaged 29 points per game.
If someone can come off the street and lead an offense to this high-octane of levels, it could be assumed that a solid coaching staff made that happen.
However, the Browns do not, which is why this move was made.
It will be interesting to see how they move on from these firings and how the team will perform in the 2024 season.
They have a lot of decisions to make about their roster, and finding new coaches will be another crucial point on their offseason docket.
