It’s not easy to win in the National Football League.
A lot of things have to come into place for a team to go the distance.
A solid front office, good decisions, a sound coaching staff, health, and even some luck.
Unfortunately, some teams just haven’t been able to catch a break throughout the course of their history.
They’ve either failed to get back to their glory days, or those days have never come at all.
With that in mind, and now that we’ve seen the first teams get eliminated from the playoffs, Chris “Mad Dog” Russo put together his list of the top-five suffering NFL fan bases (via First Take).

At No. 5, he chose the Dallas Cowboys.
Cowboys fans enter each and every single year with high hopes and expectations, yet they haven’t made it to the Super Bowl in almost three decades, with their team collapsing in the playoffs season after season.
The Chicago Bears were his No. 4 choice.
It seems like this franchise has been drifting for way too long, and they have yet to find a clear course of action to get over the hump once and for all.
Then, he talked about the New York Jets, a team that simply cannot catch a break, as shown by Aaron Rodgers getting hurt just four plays into the season.
He later chose the Minnesota Vikings, a team tied with the Buffalo Bills for the most Super Bowl appearances without a win (4), not to mention the fact that they’ve been on the wrong end of some heartbreaking defeats.
Unsurprisingly, he chose the Cleveland Browns as the No. 1 suffering fan base.
These guys have been through everything, from the team leaving and coming back to the single-worst staring QB carousel of all time.
At least they continue to stand by their team through thick and thin.
