The Los Angeles Rams’ 2023 season is over after a one-point loss to the Detroit Lions in the Wild Card round this past weekend, capping off a surprising year for a team that didn’t have many expectations during the offseason.
But now, the Rams face the all-important decision of how to improve a team that surprised the NFL world.
Personnel changes will surely come later this offseason, but head coach Sean McVay announced that he won’t make any staffing changes for 2024 unless a coach leaves for another job.
“If there are changes, it will only be for better opportunities,” McVay said, via NFL Network’s Andrew Siciliano. “We’ll have the same group back.”
McVay says his Rams coaching staff will stay intact unless assistants leave for promotions.

This is huge for continuity with a team that should return most if not all of its star players next season.
Matthew Stafford, Cooper Kupp, Puka Nacua, and Kyren Williams are all still under contract, as is Aaron Donald on the defensive side.
One coach who could leave, though, is defensive coordinator Raheem Morris.
Five teams are reportedly interested in Morris for their head coaching position – the Washington Commanders, the Seattle Seahawks, the Los Angeles Chargers, the Carolina Panthers, and the Atlanta Falcons.
Morris has previous head coaching experience as well, first with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from 2009-2011 and then as the interim for the Falcons for half a season in 2020.
Should he stay in Los Angeles, Morris would be tasked with continuing to beef up the youthful Rams defense that was good against the run but not much else.
