After the relationship between the Green Bay Packers and superstar quarterback Aaron Rodgers became too strained to continue, the four-time NFL MVP was traded to the New York Jets ahead of the 2023 NFL season, which was thought to be the beginning of a rebuild for Green Bay while also turning New York into an instant title contender.
Everything got derailed once Rodgers went down with an Achilles injury in the first series of his debut against the Buffalo Bills in Week 1, as New York went on to limp through the 2023 campaign, and Green Bay had some growing pains but eventually exceeded expectations to make into the NFL playoffs.
If that wasn’t impressive enough for Jordan Love and company, the seventh-seeded Packers were able to beat the Dallas Cowboys at AT&T Stadium in the first round of the playoffs and, as a result, turn a lot of heads around the NFL.
Rodgers headed to the AFC with hopes of contending right away with what he perceived to be a better all-around roster, but ironically, he left a team that was set up to be successful in the future and possibly right away.
Colin Cowherd of FOX Sports believes that Rodgers’ football IQ isn’t great, and his narcissism got in the way of having another run in Green Bay, which Love is experiencing right now via The Herd with Colin Cowherd.
“Aaron’s football IQ isn’t very high… Was it delusion or just narcissism and hubris?”

In the end, Rodgers could have the last laugh by returning to the field healthy and leading the Jets to a Super Bowl title while the Packers try to compete with the best of the best in the NFC.
However, for the time being, the Packers got the upper hand in this situation and will look better and better if Love continues to look like the real deal while being the team’s undisputed leader under center.
