The NFL playoffs are only one week in, and there have already been some surprising upsets, headlined by the seventh-seeded Green Bay Packers taking down the Dallas Cowboys on their home field of AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
Along with Jordan Love and company advancing after a brilliant performance against America’s Team, the Cleveland Browns were upset by rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud and the upstart Houston Texans while the Tampa Bay Buccaneers got the best of the visiting Philadelphia Eagles at Raymond James Stadium.
Although the Buccaneers were hosting their first-round playoff game against the Eagles, Philadelphia was favored to come out on top, as some believed Jalen Hurts and company could turn things around once the postseason got underway.
Unfortunately for Nick Sirianni’s squad, the Eagles fell flat against the Buccaneers, giving up 32 points to Baker Mayfield and Tampa Bay.
With Mayfield filling in for superstar Tom Brady and leading the Buccaneers to the playoffs and a playoff win, Emmanuel Acho of FOX Sports believes the former No. 1 overall pick has made a strong case to be offered a long-term deal by Tampa Bay, via “Speak” on FS1.

After being traded to the Carolina Panthers by the Browns, Mayfield quickly headed into a downward spiral and had to give up his starting job to another former top pick in Sam Darnold.
Ultimately, Mayfield fizzled out with the Panthers and ended up with the Los Angeles Rams filling in for an injured Matthew Stafford.
That short stint with the Rams was enough to impress the Buccaneers and resurrect his career in the NFL, with a long-term contract with Tampa Bay almost certainly on the horizon.
