Before the 2023 NFL Draft, there was a lot of debate over which star quarterback coming out of college was worthy of being taken No. 1 overall by the Carolina Panthers, which ultimately turned out to be Alabama’s Bryce Young.
With the No. 2 overall pick in the draft, the Houston Texans chose to bring in C.J. Stroud out of Ohio State, which turned out to be a brilliant move, as he was without a doubt the best rookie quarterback in the league this season.
Not only did Stroud have an incredible regular season, which has resurrected the struggling Texans franchise, but he helped the team win the AFC South division title, clinch a playoff spot, and led Houston to an impressive win over the Cleveland Browns in the first round.
The Texans will now face the top-seeded Baltimore Ravens in the second round of the postseason, and if they can come out on top this weekend against Lamar Jackson and company, Stroud will be one of only five rookie quarterbacks to have won multiple playoff games, according to FOX Sports: NFL.

Even though the Ravens are heavy favorites coming into this playoff matchup with a better-than-expected Texans squad, Stroud has done nothing but defy the odds throughout his entire rookie season thus far, which means it’s not beyond the realm of possibility that he can do it again this weekend.
In the win over the Browns, Stroud threw for 274 yards and three touchdowns, which was impressive, to say the least.
The Texans will be facing a much tougher team this time around, but Houston has nothing to lose and can use that to its advantage.
