The Cleveland Browns’ season came to a heartbreaking end.
The team overachieved thanks to their championship-level defense.
Notably, David Njoku led by example and made great strides as a team leader.
He suited up and did his job just hours after suffering some serious burns, pretty much setting the bar quite high for the rest of his teammates.
Nonetheless, there was a time when Njoku may not have been willing to do all that for the Browns.
Talking to Kay Adams for the Up & Adams Show, the tight end admitted that he didn’t have much of a relationship with HC Kevin Stefanski during his first year on the team.
“Our relationship is night & day from when he first got here.,” Njoku said.

He claimed that he was actually trying to get traded during that year, adding that there was a lot of unnecessary turmoil and drama.
Nonetheless, he also admits that those issues and struggles were necessary to get to the point they’re at now and take a 180-degree turn for the better.
Njoku also stated that they’re far from done together, and that even though they obviously need some time to decompress after such an emotional season, he can’t wait to get back to work.
Stefanski entered the season on the hot seat but did an outstanding job of leading this team, all things considered.
As for Njoku, he posted career-best numbers and showed that he can also be an elite TE in this league.
