The Green Bay Packers made the rounds for getting Aaron Rodgers’ heir-apparent in the first round of the NFL Draft.
Everybody was talking about how they needed to get him more help in the passing game and how they needed to replace Jordy Nelson, yet they went out of their way to get a not-so-known quarterback.
They also kept Rodgers in the dark about that selection, and that was one of the breaking points in their relationship — understandably so.
Nonetheless, former NFL WR Keyshawn Johnson points out that people rushed to make conclusions.
Talking on Undisputed, he stated that the Packers never intended to replace Rodgers right away.
Instead, they wanted to stay behind him and give him a chance to learn the game.
That’s why he believes that the Packers definitely got it right with that draft pick.
“The Packers got it right; Jordan Love is here to stay,” Johnson said.

He claimed that you could see how much he learned from Rodgers in that game vs. the Dallas Cowboys, adding that he looked exactly like him if you ignored the number on his back.
Johnson stated that even though Love has been in the league for a while, this should actually be considered his rookie season, as he had never actually played meaningful snaps.
And while no one knows whether he’s going to win four MVPs or become one of the greatest of all time, it seems like he’s the right guy for the team for the time being, and only time will tell what happens next.
