The Kansas City Chiefs’ offense has been nowhere near the juggernaut it’s become known for, but the team is scoring just enough to win games.
In their Wild Card win against the Miami Dolphins, the Chiefs were able to put up 26 points despite the cold weather conditions.
Kansas City leaned on Isiah Pacheco on the ground and the running back delivered with 24 carries for 89 yards and a touchdown.
However, the star of the day was Rashee Rice who turned heads in his playoff debut for the Chiefs.
Rice caught eight receptions for 130 yards and a touchdown, acting as Patrick Mahomes’ favorite target against the Dolphins.
The rookie receiver is quickly establishing himself and Trent McDuffie saw the greatness in him early via James Palmer of NFL Network.
“I know we battled for sure multiple times during training camp, but he definitely caught a few passes that I was like, ‘Whoa.’ Those catches aren’t easy to make and he was doing that right out the gate,” McDuffie said.

As a defensive back, McDuffie likely saw plenty of snaps against Rice in practice and the wideout displayed some of his ability it seems.
It took a couple of months for Rice to grasp the offense, but things looked like they started to click in the second half of the regular season.
Mahomes began to pepper Rice with targets every week, and now the star quarterback is looking for him in playoff games.
With a tough road matchup with the Buffalo Bills next, Rice will continue to be leaned on in the passing game.
