Robert Griffin III has been in NFL news a lot lately, and no, it’s not because he’s coming back to the NFL.
He is in a public spat with his former coach, Jay Gruden.
Gruden has ridiculed him for the past several weeks, heckling Griffin over his play in the league.
This battle has mostly taken place on Twitter, but it appears that Griffin has had enough.
He recently spoke about Gruden on a recent podcast, as shared in a video by JPA Football.
These comments appear to go back several years, and much of this conflict stems from a particular instance.
As Griffin recalls, the media had painted him as someone who threw his teammates under the bus, and Gruden substantiated these claims.
Oooooh: RG3 calling out his former head coach Jay Gruden for setting him up to look bad in front of the media… this is juicy. pic.twitter.com/pJDSJpiqjV

In this video, Griffin said that Gruden “didn’t have the balls to have my back.”
He highlighted that Gruden didn’t positively influence him or his teammates, and this series of events did not help their relationship.
This caused Griffin much consternation between himself, his teammates, and the Washington fanbase.
While it wasn’t the only reason, this seems to be a significant factor in Griffin’s move away from Washington and trying to go on a new path in the later stages of his career.
Despite this happening years ago, it continues to be a point of conflict between Griffin and Gruden.
It will be interesting to see how this situation evolves and if anything else will come from it.
Griffin appears to have the last word, especially since he is willing to speak about it rather than tweet about it.
