Now that the Dallas Cowboys are once again watching the rest of the playoffs from home, questions have emerged about quarterback Dak Prescott’s future with the team considering he’s entering the final year of his contract.
While Prescott has proven to be one of the better players at his position, his postseason failures can’t be discounted, so much so that former NFL wide receiver DeSean Jackson thinks Dallas should look at finding a new quarterback if they want to improve.
“If you’re shooting for another 12-5, 11-6 season … make it to the playoffs and be home after the first week or two … go ahead,” Jackson said. “They’re not the ’90s Cowboys anymore. They have a curse and something needs a dramatic change. And I don’t even think it’s just Dak.”
Should the Cowboys resign Dak???

The Cowboys made the playoffs three consecutive seasons and five total times since Prescott became the starting quarterback.
And every single time, they failed to advance past the divisional round despite double-digit wins in all five seasons and 12 wins in each of the past three.
This time, they let the Green Bay Packers build a huge lead and were unable to crawl back from a huge deficit.
The Cowboys decided to keep head coach Mike McCarthy for another year, which likely means Prescott’s job is safe for now.
But 2024 could be a big season for the future of the Cowboys with both their head coach and quarterback.
Another poor season – either with an early playoff exit or missing the playoffs entirely – could be huge changes for the organization on all levels.
