The Los Angeles Chargers are in desperate need of a turnaround.
This is a team that has been so close to contention for years now, and they have a better roster than some of the teams who have actually made the playoffs.
Nonetheless, they just can’t seem to get the job done in close games, and they usually lose big games even when they have a lead.
That’s why NFL analyst Michael Lombardi believes they need someone who can instill some toughness in that locker room (via The Pat McAfee Show).
“The Chargers have to find a coach who can bring mental and physical toughness to their team,” Lombardi said.

Truth be told, that’s exactly what they need, as it feels like they’ve been beaten time after time again by lesser teams.
Justin Herbert, as great as he is, has left a lot to be desired in crucial moments.
They have a stacked offense and a promising defense with some solid names, but none of that has been a factor when it matters the most.
Perhaps they should take a look at someone like Mike Vrabel, who constantly overachieved with the Tennessee Titans despite having a subpar quarterback situation and who’s going to hold every single person accountable and demand nothing but the utmost effort.
The Chargers could be one of the powerhouses in the AFC, and they cannot keep wasting some of their star player’s primes year after year, which is why they cannot afford to miss with whoever they hire as they did with Brandon Staley.
This will be a make-or-break offseason for this organization, and it could determine their fate for years to come.
