Bill Belichick’s legacy as an NFL head coach will forever be tied to the New England Patriots, but his next destination could either add to or lessen his greatness.
There have also been questions about Belichick’s viability as a team builder after the Patriots tanked once Tom Brady left for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
However, former Patriots and Buccaneers tight end Rob Gronkowski said he still believes in Belichick and that, with the right time, he can continue to be one of the greatest head coaches of all time.
“I think, 100 percent, he’s still the great Bill Belichick. No doubt about that,” Gronkowski told TMZ Sports. “If he goes to a team with great players with great talent, he will be successful because he’s still the powerhouse coach that we all have seen throughout the years.”

He appears to be a target for the Atlanta Falcons, which would truly be an interesting landing spot for him since it would be in a different conference with a team who plays in a dome and still needs a quarterback.
But, as Belichick proved early in his Patriots tenure, he can turn around even the most downtrodden teams into a perennial powerhouse.
There’s no guarantee he can do that at his next step – whether in Atlanta or elsewhere – but Gronkowski clearly sounds like someone who isn’t going to bet against Belichick despite a few rough years in New England.
Belichick will also undoubtedly want to try and break the all-time NFL wins record by a head coach.
