The San Francisco 49ers might have pulled off a needed win over the Green Bay Packers during the divisional round, but it came at a cost.
Deebo Samuel fell to a shoulder injury during the early stages of the game, causing him to miss the remainder of the contest.
This immediately jeopardized his status for the 49ers’ NFC Championship game against the Detroit Lions.
Samuel is one of the team’s best playmakers, and missing him for any more time could be detrimental to the team’s success.
While nothing is confirmed, it does appear that the team is cautiously optimistic about Samuel playing against the Lions.
As Ian Rapoport mentioned in a “Good Morning Football” segment, Samuel’s x-rays came back negative, a step in the right direction.
“As far as his actual status going forward, that still remains up in the air,” Rapoport said.
From @GMFB: There continues to be guarded optimism for #49ers WR Deebo Samuel, with negative X-Rays; Plus, #Eagles coach Nick Sirianni made moves on the defensive side of the ball. pic.twitter.com/OeXQrgItRS

With any luck, this positive trend will continue throughout the week, and Samuel can play come game time.
Samuel still has plenty of time to recover from this injury.
Being the ultimate competitor that he is, Samuel appears to be doing anything possible to get back on the field, hoping to impact this team in a big way.
The 49ers are just one win away from a Super Bowl berth, somewhere familiar to them over the years.
Their most recent Super Bowl appearance was in 2020, where they lost a heartbreaking game to the Kansas City Chiefs.
There is a chance that the 49ers will face the Chiefs in this year’s Super Bowl, giving them a potential opportunity to get revenge on them four years later.
